Yah These are just standard USB audio devices
The usual issue here is that you need softphone that support them
so that they can RING with inbound calls and also
detect an off hook so they can provide dial tone.
And at this point those events are not standard
ms/linux sound driver standard ..

if ya want play you are way better off with a
ata type device or a real ip phone
