[Discuss] Xorg configuring

A brief update and a question.

A check through the Xorg log shows one very interesting detail: the nv 
driver reports "Unknown NVIDIA chipset", so I'm thinking that could well 
be the problem (video is on the MB, a Foxconn M61PMX which uses the 
Nvidia NF-6100 chipset). Later on the log shows that the modelines are 
coming in from the monitor only most of them are being ignored as out of 
range of the virtual size (what virtual size?)

So, the question: can anyone recommend a nice, reasonably basic, PCI 
Express video card which will work out of the box and which can be found 
locally?
