I could not get HandBreak installed properly, and don't know what it does.

As I mentioned earlier, I seem to be getting CRC errors on virtually all
the DVDs I have recorded with my Sanyo DVD recorder. This has just
started happening within the past week.

I cannot even copy the .vob files to the Hard Drive using any LINUX or
Windows utility that I have tried. HOWEVER, one thing that DOES work
(though a bit painful-- and there has to be a better way):

I can create a DVD .iso image on my hard drive using (Windows) Cyberlink
DVD Suite and the utility to create a DVD image, with the option "ignore
errors" selected. I can then burn that .iso image to DVD using either
Nero (Windows) or K3B in LINUX. The resulting video DVD can then be
input to any of my Windows or LINUX video editing programs without any
problem.

It makes me wonder if there is a LINUX utility similar to the Cyberlink
one. This package was bundled with the my most recently purchased
internal DVD drive (LG).
