Yeah, I've read about this. It -is- pretty ugly.

I've more or less had enough of this crap. So if this goes into force, 
I'll just cross the border without any electronics. It's not like cell 
phone roaming is anything great anyhow; and that's the only real reason 
to bring anything (other than a blank laptop; which is really all you 
should be bringing anyhow, if you're working on anything remotely 
sensitive; governments are nosy and like to steal secrets for their 
corporations (witness France and Boeing)).
