[Discuss] Wide screen monitor

Well I seem to have overreached here. While I was waiting for the 
appropriate *.run file to download, I went over to the Mepis site to see 
if there was any information there. There was a reference to a 'monitor 
control utility' (in the K desktop system sections). I went there and 
there was a ATI choice which I checked, clicked 'Apply' ...was asked to 
reboot, which I did. Unfortunately I guess that installed a driver that 
was not compatible...so after the boot-up screen I get a black screen 
with a cursor. Startx does nothing,... so Ctr-Alt-Del to reboot.
Is there any way I can get into Mepis again and recover from this or is 
this a re-install.
I could try a live version of Mepis, but I wouldn't know what to change 
to get rid of the incorrect driver.
Re-install is not too much of a problem because I have no files yet in 
the Linux (just a beginner y'know)
