Yes it is a standard bug readily answered on the (K)Ubuntu forums. To
fix it simply go into the System Settings and then choose Regional & Language.
Once the new page loads simply choose your 'Country or region' to be Canada.
I think you have to restart KDE for the fix to take... can't remember.
