[Discuss] software RAID 1 questions

Hello all,

	I am about to create a software RAID 1 on an ubuntu machine I have and 
I have a few questions that I thought I might be able to get answered 
easier here on the list than in attempting some GooFu.

1) is it possible to take an existing single drive setup and migrate it 
to software RAID 1 setup on the same machine?

2) can I "clone" an existing single drive setup to a newly formed 
software RAID 1 setup on the same machine?

3) are there any "gotchas" to look out for in using a software RAID 1 in 
Linux these days?
