On a side note, even though I was not at the meeting but I do have an EEEPC
and I use Virtualbox. I use Virtualbox with my eee. I have upgraded my os
to mandriva and I have 1gig of ram too. It works quite well for the few
things I need to do with windows when on the road. I gave the vm 384 MB ram
and it runs okay enough.

On my desktop I also use Vbox in the seamless mode. this allows you to have
the WinXP task bar and the windows apps run as a separate window like any
native app. One caveat is the vbox guest os windows stay within the monitor
you started in. you cannot move a window between monitors, at least in my
configuration.

I believe you can also run vmware images in vbox, but only if they are NOT
separated in 2GB chunks. The vmdk files need to be monolithic. There are
vmware utilities to recombine the vmdk files though.

have fun with Vbox.
