I had this happen once because I guess the previous Shaw tech was too 
lazy to get an outdoor one. So he used an indoor one, and it admitted 
water. So semi-regularly, around midnight into the wee hours, the 
connection would fail.

Highly unlikely, but basically -- check Shaw's work. They have some real 
dumbasses working for them (along with a contingent of good people).
