The human ear will notice a difference of 3Db.

We have gone over to quiet cases completely at the office.
About 2 weeks ago we had to fire up an older computer with
accompanying drives. Everybody in the office had to get
up and see what all the racket was. We couldn't
believe people sat next to that thing for 3 years
and kept their hearing.
