[Discuss] Another Possible Presentation

I have been wrestling with some thoughts about presentations that I
could contribute, so far I have two possibilities:
1. The first is probably too specialized but you never know? I spend
most of my time on Linux writing C++ GUI applications. I have one big
project to clone Quicken. This has gone on for years, is not even close
to complete and is currently in re-write, upgrading to Qt4. Then there
are a few minor applications which are complete (more or less, always
room for improvement). However, my presentation would focus on:
"How to get started writing C and C++ GUI applications - tools to use
and a simple example"
2. I am probably not unique in that I have more than one computer in
the house. I have two desktops and one laptop and I have them hooked up
by Ethernet Cat5, and wirelessly for the laptop via a router to access
the Internet. I have for sometime now experimented with various ways to
share files and backups between the three computers and maybe my
experience (story) would be of interest. I current use NFS, sftp and
rsync to perform various functions but I cannot claim to be an expert.
I think this presentation would provide a good basis for the audience to
participate with their tips and problems.
"How to share files on a Home Network"
I will try to come up with more topics. I had thought setting up a
wireless network would be good but most of the issues here are with all
the the different wireless cards about, some of which are easier than
others and I only have experience with Intel 2915.
Another thought is that I have thought I would like to post some of my
code on the web for others to use but I have not researched how best to
do that. Perhaps someone could give a presentation of how to set up a
simple personal website or how to share Linux experience and code
through existing public sites?
