You may have mis-understood my use of the word "dialog"?  I was using it 
in the sense of a generic popup widget that is available in any number 
of libraries ( gtk, Qt etc ).  I was not refering to a program called 
dialog!  I have not used the program called dialog or xdialog so I can't 
comment further.  However, I took a look at the xdialog web page 
www.xdialog.free.fr and found it most interesting and might consider it 
for a future program.  My computers are not resource limited and I love 
KDE, Qt and C++, so its hard to break the habit and try a new approach.  
My one comment is that the xdialog screen shots suggest that they are 
using an X windows style which looks a little old fashioned?
