I know some of you will upgrade to OS X, so here are my experiences of
4 days of "fighting" (and plenty of data copying, compilations, and 3
reinstalls).
I "think" I finally "won" the battle:
1. X11 in OS X is broken. You will have to install 10.4 X11 instead.
2. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT format with a case-sensitive file
system. Adobe tools will not install if you do so. YOu will have to reformat.
3. Emacs does not compile out of the box under OS X, it requires a
patch that is slowly propagating.
4. Sawfish is slowly dying. It requires a new patch to compile under
OS X 10.5, but it is unmaintained.
5. OS X 10.5 comes with a new version of postfix with more default
security enhancements. That might require you to reconfigure it.
6. Fink is slowly catching up to 10.5. Several packages are still not
available under it
