Did you install the 64bit version?
I actually tried that a few times, and I've actually reverted back to 32
bit.
(and its like tieing one my computers hands behind its back)
But 64 bit was too problimatic for compatibility for so many different
programs.
You 'can' run some sort of 32 bit mode on your ubuntu system, I just don't
remember how.
But I'm pretty sure someone here told me how to, search back in the archives
(can we do that?)
and you should find an answer.
Or! Google 'running 32bit apps in 64bit ubuntu'.
