I am not sure if this has been already discussed here so please
forgive me if I am being redundant.
I had to do a bit of searching but at the end found that the easiest
way to adapt our machines to the new daylight savings time is by
updating the tzdata package
Your system should generate something like this when you run the
following command:
$ zdump -v /etc/localtime | grep 2007
/etc/localtime Sun Mar 11 09:59:59 2007 UTC = Sun Mar 11 01:59:59 2007 PST isdst=0 gmtoff=-28800
/etc/localtime Sun Mar 11 10:00:00 2007 UTC = Sun Mar 11 03:00:00 2007 PDT isdst=1 gmtoff=-25200
/etc/localtime Sun Nov 4 08:59:59 2007 UTC = Sun Nov 4 01:59:59 2007 PDT isdst=1 gmtoff=-25200
/etc/localtime Sun Nov 4 09:00:00 2007 UTC = Sun Nov 4 01:00:00 2007 PST isdst=0 gmtoff=-28800
I found this document very useful:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&q1=T1010301&uid=isg3T1010301&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&cc=us&lang=en
I would expect we don't need a reboot, but I don't really know. We'll
find out :)
