[Discuss] USB drive: bad hi-speed writing?

I don't know anything about USB, but I recall reading from time to
time where devices would default to USB 1.1 drivers over USB 2.0, and
is responsible for the much lower speed. I have not read of such
issues for sometime, but maybe it relates.
