The Spinrite 6.0 CD is bootable so it doesn't really matter if  
Windows or MS-DOS does not recognize the filesystem.  In fact that  
kind of level of data failure is exactly what Spinrite was designed  
to help fix.  Of course assuming that the problem is not due to a  
physical hardware problem.
