Or you could use another live CD distro that contains gparted, or
qtparted [same program, different front-end].

SimplyMEPIS might.  Knoppix could.  DSL doesn't, but with an
internet connection you can enable apt and/or aptitude and use it
to install a parted front-end, along with whatever dependencies
might be missing [Knoppix is Debian based, and DSL is Knoppix
based, therefore Debian-based as well].  By the way, this
wouldn't affect your hard-drive or any real filesystems; Knoppix
and Knoppix derivatives use a virtual filesystem and something
called unionfs, which stores changes to that virtual filesystem
in RAM.

Kind of a Red Green[*] answer to your problem, but it could work.
