Because I didn't want to change the Windows MBR.  I wanted to only load 
KUbuntu from a floppy, since the computer is primarily for video 
editing, and the software I use is not available in LINUX.  I am only 
experimenting with Kubuntu on that computer simply because it is the 
most powerful (wrt hardware) of any of my computers.
