Somebody also has been helped n+1 times, and still asks silly questions 
without taking the recommended actions (eg switching distributions to 
one that *handles* a lot of the problems he's having cleanly, or using 
package management properly).

There's a difference between being ignorant and being 
bullheaded/stubborn/stupid.

Actually, no, I haven't forgotten. The difference here is that I was a 
newbie once; Murray (and perhaps you?) seem like they will ALWAYS be a 
newbie. I guess this may give you an advantage in understanding his 
point of view?
