Yeah, far too often we get caught up in the "but OSS is just the *RIGHT* 
thing" abstract argument rather than selling it as the practical "but 
OSS will bring so many benefits to you as a dev that the closed-source 
world will not".

That's true, and a very good (and often overlooked) point (that having a 
Windows port benefits the Linux port and vice-versa by getting more devs 
to look at, and contribute to, the code).
