[Discuss] dead LCD Monitor.

That's what I thought at first, so I tried my on-board video card plus another machine, but still the exact symptoms.
Besides, with radom shapes and colors acting independent of input like this, it smacked of an logic board problem.   What I didn't report is that I didn't even get a:  "video signal not present" type message when I disconnected the D-sub interface.
I took it apart and I couldn't find any burning evidence.  The data ribbon that supplies the actual processed signal to the lcd matrix looked a little discolored though.
I've been doing some research to find a logic board for it; my last option is to call long-distance to a Texas Acer parts depot.  It's not cost effective to make calls like that, though.

Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to my new Samsung (1440x900) arriving soon......:^)

I'm not buying another Acer, either.
