[Discuss] dead LCD Monitor.

Greetings all.

Woke up this morning with a dead lcd monitor (acer - al716) and I'm wondering 
if anyone has ever fixed these things.  The screen if full of odd square 
shapes with various lines with faded patches morphing different colors to 
almost black.
A hunch tells me it's the electronics, not the actual screen.

Is this thing a paperweight or does anyone have any fix ideas?
