[Discuss] Shaw vs Linux.

Actually, it's not a problem with bittorrent. Using the torrents
actually keeps the connection established. My problem is during the
times I am not doing any downloading. I will be browsing my feeds, or
reading a webpage, and the connection will cease to function. By using a
live distro I have shown that it seems to be a Mandriva thing, as
opposed to something hardware related ... and if I had to guess I would
say that a config file somewhere has simply been corrupted. Due to
limited space my system backup only goes back 30 days, and I was too
slow on the uptake. I am planning on upgrading to Mandriva 2007 or
Kubuntu in the next few months, so unless I can find the time to solve
this I will simply wait for the re-install to do it's magic. Lazy, but
there it is.

The reason I named the thread as I did was due to the fact this
all seemed to start when Shaw did an upgrade to their modem's firmware.

Thanks for the suggestion though. You never know when an idea
will make the solution suddenly seem obvious.

        Michael.
