[Discuss] picking up mail.

Greetings all.

I've been having an odd problem with kmail for a least a few months.  What 
happens is that kmail is not picking up mail from shaw's servers reliably.

I discovered this when I was setting up an install while configuring kmail.  I 
noticed mail was being picked up that I didn't know was being held on the 
server.  So far the problem is stuck with me through 3 installs (building my 
new machine, etc)

In order to pick up my email with kmail now, I need to open the kmail 
settings, open an account dialogue with "modify" and simply close it 
with "ok"; then kmail gets the mail.

I used evolution and thunderbird to reliably pickup email while I've been 
trying to sort this out. 

I'm running debian testing amd64  kmail 1.9.5 exim4 (4.63-3) procmail 
(3.22-16)

It would be great, if anyone has any ideas, as where to go with this.  
Otherwise my next step is to try replacing exim with another MTA and then 
possibly procmail.
