I'm not a greedy mac nerd like Owen, so I have a much cheaper laptop for
sale.
This is a super-skinny Toshiba r100 selling for $500.
Specs:
p-M 900Mhz (being an efficient chip it should be comparable to the G4
without burning your lap).
768MB RAM
40GB hd
32MB Trident video
802.11b/g wifi (prism54 not Broadcom crap)
This laptop is half the weight of the slabbook: an ultraportable(2.4lb
or 3.2lb with a big battery). It uses a ULV cpu so it consumes next to
no power resulting in long battery life and very quiet operation.
I bought this beast 2 years ago and there is almost a year of warranty
left. I'm selling it because my employer just bought me a new laptop and
I've accumulated an unhealthy amount of >700mhz laptops.
Oh yeah, since it's not defective like the Mac crap I've only had
toshiba service minor components:
a) Upgraded wifi to prism54 802.11g from intel 802.11b
b) Replaced the HD 2 months ago.
The laptop runs Ubuntu with working suspend/wifi/etc. I used it for
software development as my primary machine.
