I _thought_ this was happening, but found in my case that they were being put
in as a reply to an earlier sent mail, and sort by date sorts by the date of
the first mail in the thread.
Maybe that's what you're seeing? Other than that, I've had no troubles, kmail
1.9.1 on Fedora Core 5
You can also have filters that apply on the sent mail that will put it in a
different folder.
