quite possible. even you can add a 12 volt battery too :-)
BUT all these can't provide the modularity of a LIRC circuit which steals
required voltage from com port. I have built LIRC receiver inside a DB9 box,
so I am looking for an advanced circuit which can replace the old circuit
inside the DB9.
