I run OpenSuSe on my AMD based Acer.  I had some issues with an older distro as the video card was the latest and greatest (the older Acer I had on loan from Mother's to test worked fine).

Seems to be running everything fine.

I have had pretty decent luck with OpenSuse on an Acer.  The only
command line stuff I had to do was to get the wireless working.  Haven't
thought about opengl, but the rest seems fine.
