- MPX: The Multi-Pointer X Server
- MPX is a modification of the X Server, and will be included in 7.4 release. It allows multiple keyboards and mice to be attached to a single system, and also allows these input devices to function independently on the same windowing system.

- An open source implementation of the X Window System. This is the most important underlying software for Linux desktops. The Foundation is chartered to develop and execute effective strategies that provide worldwide stewardship of the X Window System technology and standards.
